Minnesota played strong early and led after three quarters but couldn't hold on to the advantage in the final stanza of a 96-90 loss at Los Angeles on Monday, eliminating the Wolves from the playoffs in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals. Latrell Sprewell posted a game-high 27 points and Kevin Garnett added 22 and 17 rebounds.

Game 5: Timberwolves 98, Lakers 96
Kevin Garnett scored 30 points and Latrell Sprewell added 28 as the Timberwolves held on to defeat the Lakers 98-96 in Game 5 on Saturday night, keeping their season going. Leading by 16 points midway through the final period, Minnesota allowed a 10-0 run before Fred Hoiberg's three-point play with 2:26 remaining stemmed the tide.

Game 4: Lakers 92, Timberwolves 85
Wally Szczerbiak cut the gap to eight midway through the fourth quarter, but Minnesota couldn't get on track and fell 92-85 at Los Angeles in Game 4 of the West finals on Thursday. Kevin Garnett neared a triple-double with 28 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists and Szczerbiak finished with 19 points.

Game 3: Lakers 100, Timberwolves 89
Minnesota cut the deficit to five at the end of the third quarter, but got no closer in the final stanza of a 100-89 Game 3 loss at Los Angeles on Tuesday. Kevin Garnett doubled up with 22 points and 11 rebounds and Wally Szczerbiak added 21 points for the Timberwolves.

Game 2: Timberwolves 89, Lakers 71
Kevin Garnett scored 24 and grabbed 11 boards and the Wolves raced out to a 14-point halftime lead en route to an 89-71 win over the Lakers in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals on Sunday. Sam Cassell left the game in the first minute because of a back injury, but Darrick Martin came off the bench to post 15 points and six assists.

Game 1: Lakers 97, Timberwolves 88
Latrell Sprewell's driving layup with 4:02 remaining cut the deficit to two, but Minnesota managed just two points thereafter in a 97-88 home loss to Los Angeles in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Friday. Sprewell finished with 23 points and Sam Cassell and Kevin Garnett added 16 points each.

Wolves Defeat Kings In Second Round
Sam Cassell drained two pivotal free throws with 16 seconds left, and Kevin Garnett had a key blocked shot Wednesday to lead the Wolves to an 83-80 win over the Kings in Game 7 of their second-round series. Garnett, who pulled down 21 rebounds, scored 14 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter.
