Minnesota played strong early and led after three quarters but couldn't hold on to the advantage in the final stanza of a 96-90 loss at Los Angeles on Monday, eliminating the Wolves from the playoffs in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals. Latrell Sprewell posted a game-high 27 points and Kevin Garnett added 22 and 17 rebounds.

Game 5: Timberwolves 98, Lakers 96
Kevin Garnett scored 30 points and Latrell Sprewell added 28 as the Timberwolves held on to defeat the Lakers 98-96 in Game 5 on Saturday night, keeping their season going. Leading by 16 points midway through the final period, Minnesota allowed a 10-0 run before Fred Hoiberg's three-point play with 2:26 remaining stemmed the tide.

Wolves Defeat Kings In Second Round
Sam Cassell drained two pivotal free throws with 16 seconds left, and Kevin Garnett had a key blocked shot Wednesday to lead the Wolves to an 83-80 win over the Kings in Game 7 of their second-round series. Garnett, who pulled down 21 rebounds, scored 14 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter.
