  • Heroes in the Making Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, presenting The Recycling Association of Minnesota with a team signed basketball. This organization promotes conservation through its Message in a Bottle program. Materials collected through the program are gathered and sorted for recycling by individuals with developmental disabilities from vocational centers throughout Minnesota. The program enriches communities while providing rewarding employment opportunities.

  • Heroes in the Making Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, presenting Minnesota Landscape Arboretum with a $5,000 check. This organization connects people with nature through education, environmental information and magnificent gardens. Funding will be used to support a walk through butterfly house with nearly 1,000 native butterflies.

  • Heroes in the Making Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, presenting Daniel Lunde with an autographed team print. Daniel is with the organization Everyone Wins Minnesota. For more than 17 years he has been a tireless advocate for this literacy mentorship program. Along with being a mentor, he also recruits new volunteers to take part in weekly reading sessions with students in high-poverty neighborhoods schools.

  • Heroes in the Making Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, presenting Ann Goplen and her dog Midnight as well as Mary Pheifer and her dog Reggie with autographed team prints. The Reading Education Assistance Dogs, and its volunteers, provide help to young readers by providing a relaxing, accepting and supportive learning environment. Each animal is highly trained and evaluated to offer safe and fun reading sessions for thousands of children each year.

  • Heroes in the Making Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, along with Minnesota Foodshare Director, Suzanne Shatila, presenting Steve Rangitsch and Chad Undem with autographed team prints. They are members of the Aktion Club, a group for young adults with disabilities. Last year, Steve and Chad helped organize a fundraiser for little kitchen food shelf and raised more than $1,000.

  • Heroes in the Making Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, and Travelers representative, Simpson Fongthian presenting Nadia, Leeroy and Angel with Ricky Rubio jerseys. As part of Read to Achieve month, the FastBreak Foundation encouraged local schools to read over 7 million pages in just two months. Nadia, Leeroy and Angel were the top three readers.

  • Reading Timeout with Corey Brewer Timberwolves mascot Crunch got the students involved by having them help act out the story.

  • Heroes in the Making Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, and FastBreak Foundation sponsor Nancy McCabe presenting Alex, Zak and Emma with Kevin Love jerseys. As part of Read to Achieve month, the FastBreak Foundation encouraged local schools to read over 7 million pages in just two months. Alex, Zak and Emma were the top three readers.

  • Heroes in the Making Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, presenting Way to Grow with autographed team prints. Way to Grow is an advocate for early learning; the organization also empowers parents to be their children’s first and foremost teachers. Its goal is to ensure every child has an equal opportunity to succeed in school and life. Last year, Way to Grow served over 2,300 people in the Twin Cities.

  • Heroes in the Making Minnesota Timberwolves Sr. VP & Chief Revenue Officer, Ryan Tanke, presenting Rock Star Supply Co. with autographed team prints. Rock Star Supply Co. offers free writing and homework support to under-resourced students in the Twin Cities. Through its literacy initiative, a group of dedicated volunteers work closely with students to help improve their reading skills.

  • Grant Presentation Minnesota Timberwolves Sr. Vice President, Ryan Tanke, presenting a $5,000 grant check to the Boys and Girls Club of the Twin Cities. The club has been providing a positive place for disadvantaged youth of the Twin Cities since 1926. Their Striving to Achieve Reading Success (STARS) program is designed to increase reading proficiencies for children enrolled in kindergarten through 2nd grade. Funding will be used for the STARS program as there are currently over 1,400 children enrolled.

  • Grant Presentation Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, presenting a $5,000 grant check to Shepherd’s Center of the Cannon Valley. This organization promotes lifelong community involvement for senior adults. Their book buddies program connects senior volunteers to read to first grade students and emphasize the importance of reading. Funding will be used to purchase books for students.

  • WolvesFit Clinic - February 26, 2014 The FastBreak Foundation and MN Resuscitation Consortium set up an afternoon of fitness and basketball for over 100 Apple Valley YMCA kids to encourage Minnesota youth to get on the path to being fit at an early age.

  • Heroes in the Making Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, presenting Playworks coaches Sara and Matt, with a Timberwolves team signed basketball. Playworks believes in the power of play to bring out the best in every kid. Its staff gets kids moving, reduces bullying and improves the school’s overall learning environment. The organization brings play and active recess to more than 7,000 children at 14 elementary schools in the twin cities.

  • Black History Month Minnesota Timberwolves General Manager, Milt Newton, presenting Dr. Holder with a Timberwolves autographed basketball. Dr. Holder represents the Women’s Initiative for Self Empowerment. The organization empowers women and girls through providing advocacy and culturally competent services. Its programs support leadership, health and economic self sufficiency for immigrant and refugee women in the twin cities.

  • Taste of the Timberwolves On Thursday, February 19th the Minnesota Timberwolves FastBreak Foundation hosted the 19th Annual Taste of the Timberwolves as Target Center.

  • Black History Month Minnesota Timberwolves General Manager, Milt Newton, presenting Obsidian Arts Center with a Timberwolves autographed basketball. Obsidian Arts Center supports artist, curators and art historians in the examination of black visual culture. The organization operates a gallery and black art history library. It also organizes community art history workshops and a development network for emerging artists.

  • Wolves Fit Month Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, presenting Dale Wakasugi from Woodbury, with a Timberwolves autographed basketball. While refereeing a high school basketball game, Dale suffered a cardiac arrest and was resuscitated by a student. After the life altering experience, Dale was committed to sharing his story so that others may be saved from sudden cardiac arrest. Dale is a tireless advocate for cardiac arrest awareness and has trained thousands of Minnesotans in CPR.

  • Black History Month Minnesota Timberwolves General Manager, Milt Newton, presenting Frank White with a Timberwolves autographed basketball. Frank is a local historian who has collected stories, photos and artifacts to preserve the history of black baseball in Minnesota. He created a museum exhibit to bring these formerly lost stories to life and share them with the public. As the founder of Respect Sports, he devotes his career and life to promote the benefits of sports and recreation. For 14 years, Frank has led the Minnesota Twins RBI program that aims to revive youth baseball in inner cities.

  • Wolves Fit Month Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, presenting Justin Bell from the American Heart Association with a Timberwolves autographed basketball. Justin is influential to the health of Minnesotans by leading local government initiatives that impact heart health and emergency response. He has led campaigns that now require CPR education for high school students and the implementation of a simple newborn test that can diagnose heart problems. His behind the scene efforts have made him a true heart hero.

  • Black History Month Minnesota Timberwolves General Manager, Milt Newton, presenting Patwin Lawrence with a Timberwolves autographed basketball. Patwin is the Board President of the Council on Black Minnesotans. The organization works to strengthen local communities and support black Minnesotans across the state. Additionally, the council collaborates with the Minnesota Humanities Center to create new programs and events that celebrate and preserve the artistic, historical and cultural heritages of the state’s black community.

  • Grant Presentation Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, presented a $5,000 check to the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities. Receiving the check on behalf of the organization was Vice President of Youth Development, Pat Riemersma and YMCA youth Tristan Karl, Jaele Woodner and Lily Singleton. Healthy Kids Day is the YMCA’s largest initiative that brings children together and provides them with activities that teach good health and fitness. Funding will be used to bring Healthy Kids Day to all 21 YMCA branches on April 26th.

  • Black History Month Minnesota Timberwolves General Manager, Milt Newton, presenting Robin Hickman with a Timberwolves autographed basketball. Robin is the CEO and executive producer of Soul Touch Productions. For over 30 years her work has been dedicated to the healing and hope of young people. She is the founder of ‘Lovin The Skin I’m In’ movemrnt that aims to nurture positive self esteem and identity in girls of all ethnic and social economic backgrounds. She is also the founder of the Footsteps of Gordon Parks Legacy Initiative, in which she honors her great-uncle.

  • Grant Presentation Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, presented a $5,000 check to Cycles for Change. Receiving the check on behalf of the organization was Director, Jason Tanzman and youth apprentice Thomas Nelson. This organization strives to educate and empower people to use bicycles for transportation. The Cycles for Change youth apprenticeship provides a job training program for the youth to build their skills as bike experts and leaders in the community. Funding will be used to engage a dozen more youth in this program.

  • Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, along with C.H. Robinson Representative, Travis Hilgers, presenting Maria and Rui Rui with Ricky Rubio jerseys.

    Maria was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy when she was only one. She currently cheers on her high school cheerleading squad.

    Rui Rui is living with Charcot Marie-Tooth Disease. She enjoys swimming kayaking, canoeing and singing in a children’s choir.

  • Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, along with C.H. Robinson Representative, Greg West, presenting 9 year old Robby with a Kevin Love jersey. Robby was born with a rare heart defect and has undergone three open heart surgeries. To keep his heart healthy, he plays several sports and completes triathlons. Robby has participated in the American Heart Association Heart Walk since he was 1 and was inducted into the Heart Walk of Fame in 2010.

  • Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, along with C.H. Robinson Representative, Scott Theis, presenting 9 year old Dominic with a Kevin Love jersey. After receiving a concussion while playing basketball, doctors discovered that he had a brain tumor. Last January, he underwent brain surgery to remove the tumor. One year later, Dominic is back to playing basketball with his traveling team.

  • Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, along with C.H. Robinson Representative, Aaron Sigfrinius, presenting Kevin with a Kevin Love jersey. Kevin was born with Spina Bifida. He also has seizures and takes daily medication to help keep them under control. He stays active by participating in weekly physical therapy and miracle league baseball games.

  • MOA Takeover The FastBreak Foundation and C.H. Robinson set up an afternoon of fun at the Mall of America for 15 deserving kids suffering from long-term illnesses. Nikola Pekovic, Alexey Shved, AJ Price and JJ Barea, where at the event to help put smiles on the kids’ faces.

  • MOA Takeover The players helped the kids pick out their animals, stuff them and find an outfit for their new friend.

  • MOA Takeover AJ Price helps a kid pick out the best outfit and get her bear dressed.

  • MOA Takeover After the Build-a-Bear, the players and kids stopped for ice cream and autographs.

  • MOA Takeover Nikola Pekovic, Alexey Shved, AJ Price, JJ Barea, along with the children from Hope Kids, show off their finished bears.

  • Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, along with C.H. Robinson Representative, Josh Mather, presenting Melanie and Mitchell with Kevin Love jerseys. They were both diagnosed with type-one diabetes. Melanie and Mitchell participate annually in the JDRF walk to cure diabetes with their family walk team, M&M’s Marchers.

  • Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, along with C.H. Robinson Representative, Josh Mather, presenting Carson and Anders with Ricky Rubio jerseys. This summer, both boys were diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease that affects the lungs and pancreas. In order to be healthy, the boys do time-consuming therapies and treatment, and numerous appointments and test on a regular basis.

  • Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, along with C.H. Robinson Representative, Trevor Funk, presenting Keys 4/4 Kids with a $5,000 grant. This organization is inspiring young people to believe in themselves through the arts and mentorship. Funding will be used to support their newest initiative: The Ellen Project. This program brings pianos into local Children’s Hospitals for the kids to paint and then is used for musical performances.

  • Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, along with C.H. Robinson Representative, Amber Ellis, presented Memorial Blood Centers with a $5,000 grant. This organization is dedicated to saving lives by providing blood and biomedical solutions. Each year, about 1 in every 500 African American infants is born with Sickle Cell Disease. Blood transfusions are used to provide relief from the pain. Funding will be used to recruit new African American Blood Donors and Support Sickle Cell awareness.

  • Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, along with Spire Federal Credit Union CEO, Dan Stoltz, honored Antioch Ministries. This Organization empowers young leaders of North Minneapolis to being active and successful members of their community. During the Holidays the youth receive inspirational books to encourage personal growth, while their families receive grocery gift cards to help make the holiday season more affordable.

  • Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, along with Spire Federal Credit Union CEO, Dan Stoltz, honored the Jason P. Wallace Foundation. This organization encourages positive personal growth in the lives of youth through education, life skills and recreational sports. This holiday season, the Jason P. Wallace Foundation distributed gifts to over 140 families, handed out over 100 turkeys and hosted a youth sports clinic.

  • Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, along with Spire Federal Credit Union CEO, Dan Stoltz, honored Life Rebuilders. This organization provides transitional housing and services for men of the Twin Cities by helping them get back n their feet and reuniting them with their families. During the holidays, these men give back to the community by serving those in need.

  • Annual Kevin Love Coat Drive On December 17th, Kevin Love packed his car with over 100 coats and hand delivered them to the Minneapolis Salvation Army.

  • Holiday Party at the Boys and Girls Club Over 500 toys were collected and each child was able to take home a holiday gift.

  • Fastbreak Foundation Grant Presentation Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, along with Spire Federal Credit Union CEO, Dan Stoltz, presented St. Louis Park Emergency Park Program. Funding will be used to purchase over 500 toys for this holiday season for Minnesota families in need.

  • Fastbreak Foundation Grant Presentation Minnesota Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, along with Spire Federal Credit Union CEO, Dan Stoltz, presented Hope for the City with a $5,000 grant. Funding will be used to support the Winter Break Lunch Box for Kids Program and provide a meal to students while they are on winter break.

  • Military Family Honored On November 27th, the family of U.S. Army Specialist Ane Clark was honored. Specialist Clark was killed in action while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. Specialist Clark's parents, Tracy and Rick, along with other family members were in attendance.

  • Minnesota Heroes Honored On November 27th, the FastBreak Foundation honored three special Minnesota Military Heroes. Captain Brandon Schrader served with the 934th Airlift Wing of the Minnesota Air National Guard in Afghanistan in 2010. Sergeant Erik Halvorsen served with the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment of the U.S. Marine Corp in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Specialist Cody Lindberg served with the Forward Support Command, 187th Infantry Regiment of the U.S. Army in Afghanistan from September 2012 to March 2013.

  • Military Family Honored On November 20th, the family of Army Specialist Jacob Fairbanks was honored. Specialist Fairbanks died while supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. Jacobs’ mother, Jan, stepfather, Jeffery and other family members were in attendance.

  • Military Family Honored On November 20th, the FastBreak Foundation honored Minnesota Military Hero Specialist Christopher Vasquez. Specialist Vasquez served with the C. Company 34th Division Headquarters Battalion of the Minnesota National Guard in Iraq from February 2009 to March 2010.

  • Military Family Honored On November 22nd, the FastBreak Foundation honored three special Minnesota Heroes. Sergeant Tim Lisk served with the 2nd Brigade, 14th Infantry Regiment in Iraq from November 2009 to September 2010. Sergeant Matthew Birr served with the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army in Afghanistan. Specialist Jonathan Nyquist served with the 571st Engineering Sapper Company in Afghanistan from July 2011 to July 2012.

  • Military Family Honored On November 22nd, the family of U.S. Marine Corps Corporal Sean Osterman was honored. Corporal Osterman was killed in action while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. Corporal Osterman’s mother, Kelly, brother, Elijah, and sister, Sarah were in attendance.

  • Military Family Honored On November 16th, the family of Sergeant Jacob Pfingsten was honored. Sergeant Pfingsten died in 2005 during a training exercise in Germany. Sergeant Pfingsten’s mother, Ladonna, Stepfather, Randy, and other family members were in attendance.

  • Minnesota Heroes Honored On November 16th, the FastBreak Foundation honored three special Minnesota Heroes. Specialist Josh Lane served with the 95th Engineer Company of the U.S. Army in Afghanistan from August 2011 to August 2012. Specialist Scott Patrick served with the E Company 216th ADA if the Minnesota National Guard in Iraq from January 2005 to January 2006. Petty Officer 2nd Class Juren Raske served on the U.S.S. Rodney M. Davis of the U.S. Navy from 2003 to 2007.

  • Minnesota Heroes Honored On November 13th, the FastBreak Foundation honored three special Minnesota Heroes. Master-At-Arms 2nd Class Matthew Foy served with the Naval Mobilization Operations in Afghanistan. Sergeant Shanae Fortson served with the 893rd Medical Detachment of the U.S. Army in Kuwait. Specialist Kristopher Francisco served with the 101st Airborne Air Assault Division of the U.S. Army in Afghanistan.

  • Minnesota Heroes Honored On November 13th, the family of Army Specialist George Cauley was honored. Specialist Cauley was serving with the Chisholm-based 114th Transportation Company and died in 2009 during Operation Enduring Freedom. Specialist Cauley’s mother, Gloria, and father Richard were in attendance.

  • Minnesota Heroes Honored On November 8th, the FastBreak Foundation honored two special Minnesota Heroes. Navy Corpsman Samuel Getaweh served with the 2nd Medical Logistics Company of the U.S. Navy in Afghanistan from March to December 2011. Sergeant Robert Hutton served with the 339th Psychological Operations Company of the U.S. Army in Afghanistan from April to September 2012.

  • Military Family Honored On November 8th, the family of Navy Machinist First Class Benjamen Farrell was honored. Petty Officer First Class Farrell was serving on the U.S.S Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier and died in 2005 during Operation Nobel Eagle. Petty Officer First Class Farrell's mother, Barbara and Father, Jim were in attendance.

  • Military Family Honored On November 6th, the family of Army Private First Class Kham Xiong was honored. Private Xiong was assigned to the 20th Engineer Battalion at Fort Hood, Texas. He along with 12 other were killed in a senseless act of violence 4 years ago. Private Xiong's wife Shoua and other family member were in attendance.

  • Fastbreak Foundation Grant Presentation Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, along with Foundation partners, Roger & Nancy McCabe, presented BFW Charities- Veteran Pain Program with a $5,000 grant. Their goal is to help veterans return to their daily lives as quickly and healthy as possible.

  • Shabazz Muhammad Backpack Build On October 29th, Shabazz Muhammad and some Timberwolves staff members visited the Kids In Need Foundation.

  • Shabazz Muhammad Backpack Build The backpacks were then taken to the Hallie Q. Brown Community Center.

  • Shabazz Muhammad Backpack Build Shabazz handed out the backpacks to deserving students.

  • Shabazz Muhammad Backpack Build Shabazz Muhammad and the FastBreak Foundation would like to wish the kids of Hallie Q. Brown Community Center a great year at school!

  • Fastbreak Foundation Grant Presentation Timberwolves President, Chris Wright, presented Rebuilding Together Twin Cities with a $5,000 grant. Funding will be used to put in new window in the home of a retired US Army Veteran and single mother of two.

  • Fastbreak Foundation Grant Presentation Youth First Inc. co-founders, Mark Arjes and Mark Hendricks were presented a $5,000 grant by Timberwolves President, Chris Wright. Funding will be used to support their programs like youth basketball tournaments.

  • Fastbreak Foundation Grant Presentation On October 30th, Wolves President, Chris Wright presented a $5,000 grant to CASA Minnesota representatives Mariann Grossman and Mark Webster.

  • Military Family Honored On November 1st, the family of Army Sergeant Leonard Simmons was honored. Sergeant Simmons was a member of the 101st Airborne and died in 2003 during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Sergeant Simmons' wife, Rosemary, and daughter Anyana were in attendance.

  • Farnsworth Aerospace School Court Dedication On October 22nd, the FastBreak Foundation headed out to Farnsworth Aerospace School to dedicate the newly resurfaced basketball court.

  • Farnsworth Aerospace School Court Dedication Farnsworth 5th graders attended the court dedication ceremony and received some Timberwolves prizes.

  • Farnsworth Aerospace School Court Dedication The students then got to participate in a basketball clinic.

  • Emergency Foodshelf Network On Tuesday, August 13th the Timberwolves and Lynx staff spent the morning volunteering at Emergency Foodshelf Network in New Hope.

  • Emergency Foodshelf Network Our team packed 280 boxes of meat, 352 produce packs and labeled 900 cans of corn!

  • Emergency Foodshelf Network The staff packed enough food to feed 3,428 people in 3 hours!

  • Bridging Warehouse At the end of the day the crew had emptied 4 truckloads of furniture!

  • Bridging Warehouse The staff unloaded trucks of furniture to be stored for underprivileged families to come shopping at the largest furniture bank in North America.

  • Bridging Warehouse In July the Timberwolves and Lynx staff volunteered at the Bridging warehouse in Roseville.

  • Loring Park A lot of planting and mulching was done to make the park look its best!

  • Loring Park The staff did a lot of weeding throughout the various garden beds in the park.

  • Loring Park In June Timberwolves & Lynx staff headed out to Loring Park to do some volunteer their time and give back to the community.
