The Minnesota Timberwolves FastBreak Foundation teamed up with MARN (Minnesota Adoption Resource Network), the Roger & Nancy McCabe Foundation and SPIRE Federal Credit Union to provide the tenth annual Holiday Shopping for Kids event. Twenty-two children in foster care went on a $500 shopping spree at the downtown Target location – accompanied by a SPIRE Federal Credit Union representative.

Players on the Timberwolves were also spread across the store to help the children shop for both things they wanted and needed. Members of the Wolves in attendance were Ricky Rubio, Andrew Wiggins, Anthony Bennett, Robbie Hummel, Glenn Robinson III, Kevin Martin, Nikola Pekovic, Ronny Turiaf, Shabazz Muhammad, Zach LaVine, Mo Williams and assistant coach Ryan Saunders.

A man sat courtside for pregame warm ups on Wednesday as the Wolves prepped to take on the winless Philadelphia 76ers at Target Center. He was unassuming in stature, unobtrusive with his demeanor, clearly happy to be so close to the NBA action.

Harold Gifford, however, is much more than an average 90-year-old fan. Gifford is responsible for saving the current Los Angeles Lakers franchise as we know it thanks to a miraculous emergency landing more than 50 years ago.

Minnesota Timberwolves players’ contributions in this season’s Tickets for Kids program has enabled the organization to donate 500 tickets for every home game to deserving youth in our community. A total of 22,000 tickets will be donated this season thanks to the players’ financial support of the Timberwolves FastBreak Foundation’s Tickets for Kids program.

The Minnesota Timberwolves FastBreak Foundation and the Spire Credit Union recognized a group that has been serving the metro for the last 45 years.

Before Monday’s game against the Golden State Warriors, the Thanksgiving Meals On Wheels Program was presented with a team signed basketball via Timberwolves President Chris Wright and Spire Credit Union CEO Dan Stoltz.

There on behalf of Thanksgiving Meals on Wheels was founder Bill Foussard.

To continue the Season of Giving, the Minnesota Timberwolves FastBreak Foundation, along with the Spire Credit Union, gave a $5,000 grant to the Hope Coalition.

The grant presentation occurred pre-game against the Houston Rockets and was awarded to the Hope Coalition Director of Services Dan Watson and Outreach Advocate Staci Greenlee. Timberwolves President Chris Wright and Spire Credit Union CEO Dan Stoltz presented the grant.
