WolvesCare Month will focus on organizations and events that work to service, support and encourage Minnesota youth suffering from terminal or long-term illnesses.

Heroes in the Making: The FastBreak Foundation will host children whom beat the odds with an out of the ordinary story from local long-term and terminally ill children. Heroes will be honored on court with a personalized jersey, autographed basketball and a suite to the game. The FastBreak Foundation will also announce their $10,000 January grant recipient.

Reading Time-Out: The Minnesota Timberwolves will visit an area hospital to read with the children staying there. Everyone will get t-shirts, prizes, pictures and autographs with the players.

Diabetes Cooking for a Cause: TThe FastBreak Foundation along with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and American Diabetes Association will host 40 diabetic children at the Way Cool Cooking School in Eden Prairie. Guest Timberwolves chefs will be there to help teach children to cook diabetic friendly meals.

Community Basketball Clinic: The Timberwolves FastBreak Foundation will help area children fine tune their basketball skills as the Timberwolves Coaching staff helps to teach basketball fundamentals.

Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx Scholarships: The Timberwolves and Lynx provide five $2,000 scholarships to high school seniors who are enrolled in college programs for the fall semester. This past year, more than 500 applications were received from students throughout Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.
