Minnesota Timberwolves Partner with Select Heartland Chevy Dealers and Minnesota FoodShare
Program to Help Re-Supply Food Shelves Across the State
Minneapolis/St. Paul – The Minnesota Timberwolves FastBreak Foundation, Select Heartland Chevy Dealers and Minnesota FoodShare are teaming up to help re-supply food to depleted food shelves across the State of Minnesota.
Throughout the month of March, Timberwolves fans will have the opportunity to drop off non-perishable food items at participating Select Heartland Chevy Dealerships.
Fans making donations at select Heartland Chevy dealerships before March 14 will also be able to sign up for a “Travel with the Team” drawing. The names drawn will win a chance to participate in an on-court contest during the Timberwolves/New Orleans game on March 23. The winner of the on-court contest will receive two airline tickets to Sacramento, a night in a deluxe hotel and two lower-level game tickets to see the Timberwolves take on the Kings at Arco Arena on April 3.
At the conclusion of the campaign, food collected at the Select Heartland Chevy Dealerships will be donated to each dealership’s local food shelf. In addition to food collected, the Minnesota Timberwolves FastBreak Foundation and Select Heartland Chevy Dealers will also make a donation of $5,000 to Minnesota FoodShare. In 2004, Minnesota FoodShare collected more than eight million pounds of food for Minnesotans in need. This year’s goal is to collect 8.5 million pounds/dollars of food for Minnesota food shelves. This is the eighth year the Timberwolves have participated in Minnesota FoodShare’s annual food drive.
