The Minnesota Timberwolves FastBreak Foundation provides and supports hands-on programs that positively impact Minnesota youth. Through giving, education and basketball opportunities, the Foundation enables young people to make responsible decisions, contribute to their futures and experience lifelong memories.
October - New Seasons, New Beginnings
New Season, New Beginnings reflects the excitement and opportunity a new NBA season brings not only to basketball enthusiasts, but to the community in which we play. It means highlighting those who work hard to create new opportunities for Minnesota’s youth; creating renewed spaces, energy and attitudes for learning and community development.
This year's events include: All Staff Volunteer Day, Two Court Renovations, Reading and Learning Center Renovation.
November - Operation MN Heroes
Operation Minnesota Heroes Month will honor, serve and recognize Minnesota’s troops and their families through in-game elements, special events and a grant. The goal of this campaign is to demonstrate the organization’s support and appreciation of those working to protect our country at home and abroad.
This year's events include: Give Thanks event for all Purple Heart winners and their families, Military Night in-arena, special messages from soldiers abroad, a basketball clinic for kids with a parent stationed abroad and a Reading Timeout with soldiers and their children.
December - Season of Giving
Season of Giving focuses on organizations and events that work to improve the holiday season for Minnesotans in need through in-game elements, special events and a grant, as well as recognizes those in the community who embody the spirit of the season through their work to assist others. This year's events include: Holiday Shopping for Kids (kids who are placed in foster homes are surprised with a Holiday shopping spree with Wolves players), a Reading Time-Out and a basketball clinic.
January - WolvesCare
WolvesCare Month focuses on organizations and events that work to service, support and encourage Minnesota youth suffering from terminal or long-term illnesses through in-game elements, special events and a grant. This year's events include: Reading Timeout, Cooking for a Cause (Wolves players cook a healthy meal with children who have juvenile diabetes) and Heroes in the Making.
February - Black History Month
Black History Month focuses on honoring those individuals who have impacted and defined history through in-game elements, special events and a grant.
This year's events include: Black History Traveling Celebrations, Heroes in the Making, Reading Time-Out and "Who Inspires You" creative contest.
March - Read to Achieve
Read to Achieve Month focused on organizations and events that worked to service, support and encourage Minnesota youth to read at home through in-game elements, special events and a grant.
This year's events include: All staff reading events, Reading Timeouts and a basketball clinic.
April - Fan Appreciation
Fan Appreciation Month focuses on saying "thank you" to Minnesotans for their support throughout the year through in-game elements, special events and a grant.
This year's events include: Reading Timeouts, Grant Voting Online (The FastBreak Foundation gives fans an opportunity to vote on the grant recipient for April), youth basketball awards and Community Service Awards.
