Heading into the 2014 Playoffs, Russell Westbrook is at the top of his game on both ends of the floor. This season, Westbrook is averaging over 21 points and nearly seven assists per game in addition to a career-high in rebounds per game. He is the Thunder’s engine on the offensive end and the first line of defense as opponents brought the ball up the floor. The tenacity and intensity with which Westbrook plays the game has inspired others the roster over the five-plus years he’s spent with the team as he and Kevin Durant have set the internal standards for effort and work ethic. As the regular season comes to a close, Westbrook wants the Thunder to be a smarter team, using its basketball IQ and corporate knowledge to better itself on and off the court.
