Martin, who joined the Thunder at the beginning of the year, has transitioned seamlessly into the Thunder’s second unit on offense and defense. As the leading scorer for his former teams the Houston Rockets and Sacramento Kings, Martin is enjoying his experience as a highly capable shot-maker playing alongside other elite scorers like Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. While Martin is a marksman from three-point range and finds his way to the wings or the corners for shot opportunities off of the drive-and-dish, he is also capable of putting the ball on the floor as a playmaker. In fact, an area the efficient Martin likes to score from is the free throw line after driving and drawing fouls against opponents. As the primary option on the Thunder’s second unit, it is Martin’s responsibility to knock down shots within the flow of the offense while also being a high-efficiency player.

(Martin) is one of the most efficient offensive players in the NBA over the last several years. "He's a guy that draws fouls at an incredibly high rate. He is a guy that has a great feel for the game, understands how to score and knows the league. Our coaching staff has some history with him and knows him intimately…They were confident and excited about having him.
