Simmons is no stranger to Seattle basketball fans after two outstanding seasons at the University of Washington. An All-Pac-10 selection as a senior, Simmons averaged 16.0 points per game to rank second on the Huskies as they won the Pac-10 Tournament and earned a number-one seed in the NCAA Tournament. A dangerous outside shooter, Simmons set the UW single-season record with 80 3-pointers, making them at a 41.7% clip as a senior. A Seattle native who played for Garfield High School, Simmons is looking to join a handful of local players to play for the Sonics and three UW alums - Charles Dudley, Lars Hansen and Detlef Schrempf.
