Roger Powell, Jr. comes to the Sonics from the University of Illinois, where he helped the Illini win their first 29 games of the 2004-05 season and advance to the National Championship Game. Powell started all 39 games for Illinois, ranking fourth on the team in scoring at 12.0 ppg and second in rebounding at 5.7 rpg. Undersized at 6-6, Powell played power forward for Illinois, but his shooting range - he connected on 20 3s as a senior - should help him make the transition to the perimeter as a professional.
