The Sonics are Mike Wilks' sixth NBA team after he joined them in a trade on Feb. 23, 2006. A quality distributor and defender, Wilks' height (5-10) worked against him in trying to make the NBA after he starred at Rice University. He spent his first year out of college with Mobile and Huntsville in the NBA Development League, winning the league's inaugural Sportsmanship Award, and split the 2002-03 season between Huntsville, Atlanta and Minnesota, averaging 3.2 points and 2.0 assists in 46 NBA games. Wilks spent the 2003-04 season in Houston and stayed in Texas for 2004-05, winning the NBA Championship with the San Antonio Spurs. Wilks spent the first three and a half months of 2005-06 in Cleveland before being acquired in a trade for Ronald "Flip" Murray and returning for the 2006-07 season.
