One of two active Dutch players in the NBA, Francisco Elson found his way from the Netherlands to Kilgore Junior College and eventually California. A second-round pick in 1999 by the Denver Nuggets, Elson spent four seasons in Spain before joining the Nuggets in 2003-04. After establishing himself as part of the Denver rotation, Elson joined the Spurs as a free agent in the summer of 2006 and started eight games during the postseason as San Antonio won the 2007 NBA championship. He joined the Sonics in a trade on Feb. 20, 2008.
