Andre Brown got his first NBA opportunity with the Seattle SuperSonics. The DePaul product signed a 10-day contract with the Sonics on Jan. 5, 2007 and quickly worked his way into regular minutes, impressing the Sonics enough that they signed him to a second 10-day contract and ultimately for the rest of the 2006-07 season. A McDonald's High School All-American at Chicago's Leo High School, Brown was a finalist in the dunk contest held as part of the game, losing to DeShawn Stevenson. At DePaul, Brown teamed with future NBA players Steven Hunter and Bobby Simmons and finished his career as the fourth-leading rebounder in Conference USA history and in the Blue Demons' all-time rebounding top 10.
