By the end of the afternoon, Perry Jones had worked up more than just a sweat. He looked like he had gone through a tough workout.

That’s how much energy and effort Jones and his Thunder teammates brought to Deer Creek Middle School on Wednesday for the Thunder Fit Clinic, presented by Homeland. There were stations for fitness that featured push-ups and sit-ups, a nutrition station and two basketball skill stations led by Kendrick Perkins and Hollis Thompson.

I first became a Thunder fan when the team’s owner, Mr. Clay Bennett, proclaimed his famous words: “We did it!” and announced the Thunder was coming to Oklahoma City. My fandom has grown tremendously since that day and has spread to my teenage daughter Kennedy, my mother and my grandmother (who is 96 years old and never misses a game on television).

OKLAHOMA CITY, September 12, 2012 – The Oklahoma City Thunder signed guards DeAndre Liggins and Andy Rautins to contracts, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Liggins (6-6, 209 pounds) saw action in 17 games during the 2011-12 season as a member of the Orlando Magic where he registered averages of 1.9 points and 0.9 rebounds in 6.8 minutes.
