Oklahoma City, Thursday, Dec. 6 – The Oklahoma City Thunder will hold a Toy Drive before Friday night’s game against the L.A. Lakers, collecting toys outside of Chesapeake Energy Arena starting at 6 p.m. The Toy Drive is part of the fifth annual Thunder Holiday Assist initiative, presented by Cox Communications.

Fans attending the game and those headed downtown Friday evening are encouraged to stop by the tents outside the northeast and northwest arena entrances and donate a new, unwrapped toy to benefit the Salvation Army Angel Tree program.

It was one of those rare beautiful December days in Oklahoma City on Wednesday as the Rolling Thunder Book Bus pulled up to Hayes Elementary to visit their first-grade class. But the warm air and sunshine only helped to brighten the smiles on everyone’s faces and lift the existing excitement already in the air for the visit, which included 3,000 books, one bus and two Thunder players.
