Oklahoma City, Tuesday, Oct. 23 – The Oklahoma City Thunder will host its final game of the preseason in Wichita on Wednesday, Oct. 24. The team will take on the Dallas Mavericks at 7 p.m. at INTRUST Bank Arena.
Before the game begins, the Thunder will engage with Wichita fans through other events, including a clinic at the local Boys & Girls Club and Thunder Alley, a family-friendly experience on the plaza outside of the arena before the game.
After the Thunder’s Tuesday-Wednesday back-to-back set, the focus will become completely directed to preparing for the regular season.
Over the next 36 or so hours, the Thunder will invest all of its energy into getting the most out of its final two preseason games, starting tonight in Chicago against the Bulls. One adjective to describe the Thunder this preseason has been consistent. Each day after practice or shootaround, players continue to take extra jump shots or run through more drills, as guard Eric Maynor explained Tuesday morning.
Oklahoma City, Monday, Oct. 22 – The Oklahoma City Thunder has announced the hiring of Lesley McCaslin as its new courtside/web reporter and host for game broadcasts on FOX Sports Oklahoma. She joins play-by-play announcer Brian Davis, analyst Grant Long and radio announcer Matt Pinto on the Thunder broadcast team.
On many occasions this season, Russell Westbrook will bring the ball down court, see Kendrick Perkins sprinting towards him to set a screen, and have Kevin Durant on the wing, Thabo Sefolosha in the corner and Serge Ibaka in the opposite corner. With that vantage point, Westbrook will have a bevy o]f options as he slices towards the rim.
OKLAHOMA CITY, October 22, 2012 – The Oklahoma City Thunder waived guard Walker Russell, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti.
Russell appeared in one preseason contest for the Thunder and recorded five points and one assist in six minutes of action.
Oklahoma City’s roster now stands at 18.
Kendrick Perkins waited it out in the far corner of the court, finally hopping into the center circle to prepare for tip off. It was one of many signs that three weeks into the preseason, the Thunder is getting back into its rhythm.
