OKLAHOMA CITY, Friday, June 26, 2009 – The Thunder and MidFirst Bank have teamed to host the Thunder Summer Caravan, a statewide summer series of Thunder Basketball events. The first stop on the 12-stop tour is from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, June 27 at the MidFirst Banking Center at 5800 N. Western Ave in Oklahoma City.
Attending the Caravan stop tomorrow will be the three players acquired by the Thunder in last night’s NBA Draft. James Harden, B.J. Mullens and Robert Vaden will all be at the Caravan stop and Thunder fans are encouraged to attend to help welcome them to Oklahoma City. A media only press conference is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. inside the MidFirst Bank.
The Thunder Summer Caravan is designed to bring the action and atmosphere of a Thunder game day to MidFirst Banking centers. Festivities at Saturday’s stop include a Thunder Sport Court, interactive games, contests, giveaways, complimentary hot dogs and Coca Cola products and appearances by TV color analyst Grant Long, Rumble the Bison, and the Thunder Girls. The Rolling Thunder Book Bus will also be in attendance and free books will be given to all children in attendance. The new players will also host a mini basketball drill for a group of children.
