OKLAHOMA CITY, Tuesday, June 28 – The Thunder announced today that the Thunder Girls have been invited to participate in the 2011 NBA Lenovo Pavilion Tour. The tour is a grassroots event combining outdoor tournaments with fan events and interactive basketball elements.
This is the third consecutive year the team has been selected to represent Oklahoma and the NBA during an international tour. The Thunder Girls will be the only NBA dance team represented at the event. Team members scheduled to join the tour include veterans Riane, Sheri, Brittany and Haley, in addition to newer members Jessica and Marisa.
The team is scheduled to leave Oklahoma City on Thursday, June 30 and will return to the States on July 11. Their schedule includes sponsorship events, performances and photo opportunities with fans.
