Sikma Kicks Off Legends Tour

August 14, 2006

Saturday proved a gorgeous, sunny day to kick off the Sonics & Storm Legends Tour at Burke Gilman Park. With Sonics fans out in force, Voice of the Sonics Kevin Calabro and Sonics and Storm President and CEO Wally Walker presented legendary center Jack Sikma, honored by having the Burke Gilman NeighborHoops court renamed for him. With the assistance of Squatch, Sikma cut the ribbon on the court and made the ceremonial first basket - after a couple of misses.

After the presentation was complete, Sikma led young fans in a clinic on the court and signed autographs while Squatch, Doppler and finalists for the 2006-07 Sonics Dance Team also entertained fans.
