Playoff Preparations Under Way for Love's Thunder Alley

OKLAHOMA CITY, Wednesday, April 25 – The Oklahoma City Thunder today announced events for home games of Round 1 of the NBA Playoffs outside Chesapeake Energy Arena. The Playoffs begin this weekend, and the NBA will release the Playoff schedule later this week. Beginning three hours prior to tipoff, fans will be able to attend the new Love’s Thunder Alley. This free block party will include new features such as more interactive games, concessions, a FOX Sports Oklahoma broadcast stage, Playoff merchandise and more. In addition, fans are invited to bring chairs and blankets and watch the game broadcast on the 74-foot wide, 20-foot tall video display located on the northwest side of the arena. “Love's is very pleased to broaden our partnership with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Love's Thunder Alley is a natural extension of the fan experience that we already have with Love's Loud City. We are proud to support the Thunder, who brings great pride to our local community and our state. Our sports marketing initiatives have always been to enhance the fan experience at any venue. Our sponsorship helps bring the in-arena excitement out to Love's Thunder Alley for more fans to gather and enjoy the playoff experience,” said Director of Marketing for Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores Dave Frankenfield. Love’s Thunder Alley will also play host to the popular Thunder Rewards Zone, which offers a game-day opportunity to win or buy specially designated tickets. Registration will begin four hours prior to tipoff and close after two hours. Ninety minutes before tip, 100 winners will be drawn at random. The first 25 winners will each receive a complementary pair of Love’s Loud City tickets. The remaining 75 winners will be able to purchase a pair. Please note that arriving early will not increase the chances of winning. The Thunder Rewards Zone is presented by Buffalo Wild Wings on Northwest Expressway. Single-game tickets for Playoff Round 1, Home Games 1 and 2 will go on sale via THUNDER.NBA.COM on Friday morning at 10 a.m. Due to tremendous support from Thunder Season Ticket Members, the number of single-game tickets available is very limited. Fans are also encouraged to visit the Thunder TicketExchange, which offers the only Thunder-authorized and safest, most secure way to buy and sell tickets. The Thunder TicketExchange can be accessed by visiting THUNDER.NBA.COM. Also announced today, the team’s Thunder Shop inside Chesapeake Energy Arena will offer extended Saturday hours beginning on April 28 through the Playoffs. Fans can now shop for new 2012 playoff merchandise Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
