SEATTLE - The Seattle SuperSonics today signed first-round draft pick
Johan Petro to a contract, Sonics General Manager Rick Sund announced. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Petro, 19, was the Sonics’ first-round selection (25th overall) in the 2005 NBA Draft held on June 28. The 7-0 center, a native of Paris, France, played professionally the last two seasons for Pau Orthez.
Petro will play on the Sonics’ summer-league team in the Reebok Rocky Mountain Revue in Salt Lake City July 15-22, 2005.
