Thunder Starts Off New Year’s Eve Celebration
OKLAHOMA CITY, Monday, December 29, 2008 – The Oklahoma City Thunder takes on the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, Dec. 31 at 7 p.m. at the Ford Center. Fans can start their New Year’s Eve celebration early in downtown Oklahoma City by attending the game and continuing the festivities at the Art’s Council of Oklahoma City’s “Opening Night” New Year’s Eve celebration. The Thunder and Arts Council are teaming up to provide fans with a New Year’s package that includes a ticket to Wednesday’s game and a wristband to “Opening Night” for $26. Fans can purchase packages at (405) 429-7748. In addition to Wednesday’s game night festivities, the team will also host a Tiger Safari of baby wildlife including a ring-tailed lemur, kangaroo, wallabee and fox, for fans of all ages. Three local, live bands will also play on the Ford Center concourse throughout pregame. As part of the Thunder’s Ford F-150 Drive to a Sellout, 25 pairs of tickets will be given away at 6 p.m. on Wednesday in front of the box office. Fans are encouraged to arrive early for the opportunity to buy or win tickets.
