NBA Playoffs Action Hits OKC Thursday with Game 3 of Thunder vs. Lakers

Oklahoma City, April 20, 2010 -- The energy, excitement and passion of NBA Playoffs basketball will debut in Oklahoma City on Thursday as the Thunder squares off against the Los Angeles Lakers for Game Three in the first-round of the 2010 playoffs. Tipoff is at 8:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 8 p.m. to help welcome the team back home.

While single-game tickets for Game Three and Saturday’s Game Four sold out last week, there are still opportunities for fans wanting to attend Thursday’s match. As the Thunder did for 41 regular-season home games, 200 tickets will be available in the Fill Up the Ford promotion. Due to overwhelming interest in playoff tickets, however, some changes have been implemented to better ensure fairness and safety for all fans.

Fill Up the Ford will use a lottery system for both the Thursday and Saturday home games, with all 100 pairs of Loud City tickets to be raffled. The first 25 numbers pulled will snag a complimentary pair of tickets, while the remaining 75 numbers will win an opportunity to buy two $15 tickets at the box office.

The promotion kicks off at 3:30 p.m., with the drawing set to begin at 6:30 p.m., two hours prior to tipoff. Attendees will be treated to a variety of wings courtesy Buffalo Wild Wings on Northwest Expressway.

Season Ticket Members had first opportunity to acquire tickets for the playoff games when they renewed their season tickets for the 2010-11 season.

Even aside from Fill Up the Ford, there are plenty of reasons to come early to the Ford Center. Kicking off outside the arena at 5:30 p.m. is Thunder Alley, a party featuring live music by 2007 “America’s Got Talent” runner-up Cas Haley and Woodbelly. Thunder Alley has something for the entire family, including $1 Budweiser beers, inflatable games, face-painting, a basketball court and a large TV screen airing the playoff pregame show and NFL Draft.

All fans attending Thursday’s game will receive a blue Thunder T-shirt, courtesy Chesapeake Energy, as well as a Sprite pom. Doors to the Ford Center open at 7 p.m.

During the game, Thunder fans are invited to visit a display outside Section 120 for a chance to bid on an array of autographed Thunder items. The collection will feature player jerseys and photographs, a team-signed basketball and a framed and autographed Rumble T-shirt. The auction, which begins at 7 p.m. and runs through the end of the third quarter, will also include other signed sports memorabilia. A portion of the proceeds benefits the Thunder Community Foundation, which helps support the Thunder’s community outreach programs.
