Thunder to Host First Afternoon Game of the Season Sunday

Oklahoma City, Wednesday, Jan. 26 – The Oklahoma City Thunder will host the Miami Heat on Sunday, Jan. 30 during a national televised game on ABC. Tip-off is set for 12 p.m. with Oklahoma City Arena doors opening at 10:30 a.m. The game can also be heard on the Thunder Radio Network.

The final 200 tickets for this game will be raffled off at the Thunder Rewards Zone, which will open for registration at 9 a.m. Sunday outside the Arena Box Office. At 11 a.m., 25 pairs will be given away, courtesy of the Thunder and 75 fans will win an opportunity to purchase the remaining tickets. Those participating will receive food, courtesy of Buffalo Wild Wings on Northwest Expressway.

Game elements for Sunday include a visit from the NBA on ESPN RV, a traveling fanfest on wheels, which includes basketball hoops for skill challenges, a replica ESPN sports desk and giveaways. The RV will be on display on Reno Ave. beginning at 9 a.m. The night’s national anthem will be performed by Sojourner, a quartet from Enid whose members include former NBA and University of Oklahoma player Brent Price.

During the game, The Thunder Community Foundation and Nick Collison will raffle off Collison’s game-worn jersey. Fans can buy a raffle ticket for $5 outside Section 111 for the chance to meet Collison and receive his autographed jersey after the game. This opportunity is exclusive to Sunday’s game with all proceeds benefitting the Oklahoma City children’s facility Special Care. Last week, Collison announced a personal donation of $40,000 to Special Care. Thunder fans will have a chance to help by buying raffle tickets for the jersey or bidding on Thunder-signed items in a special Thunder Community Foundation auction at the same location.

Fans are encouraged to check the latest information on construction and detours in downtown Oklahoma City prior to heading to the Arena and to make plans to arrive early. Updated information can be found at https://www.okc.gov/project180/.
