Sales & Service Receptionist
The Seattle Sonics & Storm are currently seeking a qualified individual for the position of Sales & Service Receptionist. This position’s primary responsibility will be handling incoming telephone calls at the business office of the Seattle Sonics & Storm. Additionally, the Sales & Service Receptionist will be responsible for greeting guests, accepting deliveries and mail and helping maintain the effective operation of the office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Answer incoming switchboard telephone calls, directing callers to the appropriate persons, efficiently answering questions, providing accurate information and taking messages
Responsible for maintaining, ordering, organizing and restocking office common spaces, i.e., copy areas, coffee station areas and supply bins
Keep common areas clean and attractive
Schedule and maintain conference rooms
Assist with the daily coordination of incoming and outgoing mail and parcels
Respond to and distribute incoming faxes and e-mails originating from general Sonics & Storm fax numbers and e-mail addresses
Assist other departments with special projects when needed
Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum six months of reception/office work experience
Excellent Guest Service Skills
Ability to handle problems and Guests in an efficient and courteous manner
Excellent phone presence and professional manner
Good verbal communication skills
Strong communication and organization skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
Positive attitude with the ability to manage stressful situations
Flexibility with scheduling

Account Executive, Group Sales - Seattle Storm
Maximize attendance and profitability for the Seattle Storm by selling group ticket products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Sell Seattle Storm group tickets
Coordinate with other departments to organize and implement group night events
Work during game nights – entertain clients and answer customer service and sales questions at Fan Information Booth
Attend team and community events for the purpose of maximizing sales opportunities
Sell inventory to special projects (concerts, events) upon request
Build relationships to provide repeat business and excellent customer service

Vice President of Marketing, Seattle SuperSonics
The Seattle SuperSonics are currently seeking an individual for the position of Vice President of Marketing. Specific areas of focus include: advertising, market research and analytics, promotions, database and e-marketing as well as overall brand development, public relations, community relations, event presentation/operations, graphic design, video production and interactive marketing. This position is responsible for overseeing all marketing functions for the Sonics. Primary objectives include: drive ticket sales, increase broadcast ratings, develop and analyze research data from multiple sources, grow database contacts and lead generation initiatives, increase the sale of team branded merchandise and develop local and regional fan development outreach initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise all areas of the Marketing Group (marketing/promotions/advertising, event presentation/operations, community relations, public relations, event operations, interactive/website development and creative services) to maximize collaborative exposure
Responsible for the overall management of the Sonics advertising agency
Interface with all departments to contribute to the development, implementation and analysis of marketing and sales campaigns
Develop and administer quality database-building strategies and programs which result in positive ROI and help reduce costs-of-sale
Analyze organizational research/data to aid marketing strategy development
Develop and implement e-marketing strategies
Develop creative strategies to maximize overall profit potential
Supervise the Sonics Marketing, Operations and Public & Community Relations staff, including four direct reports with a team of 23 full-time employees
Oversee development and production of marketing and sales collateral materials
Oversee development and execution of corporate/marketing partner activation strategies, including retail promotions, product sampling, gift with purchase, sweepstakes, premium item distribution, cause marketing initiatives
Work with broadcast partners on fully integrated promotions to increase ratings, promote data gathering and increase fan base.
Maximize relationships with various media outlets and various promotional partners
Oversee the preparation and administration of departmental operating budgets for the Sonics marketing group departments
Development of initiatives to support new revenue opportunities
Serve on the executive leadership team responsible for the continued development of the Basketball Club of Seattle
Qualifications and Requirements:
The ideal candidate should have 10 - 12 years of business experience with general marketing, retail marketing, promotions and sponsor relations/activation experience. Hence, brand management, retail marketing, and promotion and sponsor relations with a team or agency will be considered. Other specific skills necessary include:
Proven leadership and management abilities
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Strong analytical skills
Experience in managing multiple research data services such as Scarborough, Nielsen, JD Power etc.
Experienced in implementing such research methodologies such as intuitive, objective and subjective
Database marketing and/or research experience (sports marketing experience preferred)
Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize simultaneously
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

Assistant Controller
Manage, record, collect and analyze all revenue sources of The Basketball Club of Seattle, L.L.C. Oversee the daily accounting functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage Accounts Receivable Coordinator
Manage the accounting for all revenue sources
Assist with collection of accounts receivable
Review reconciliations for related general ledger accounts and departmental records
Manage Accounts Payable Lead
Provide review and approval of submitted expenses, reconciliation for related general ledger accounts and accounts payable records
Manage Staff Accountant
Review and approve completed account reconciliations, journal entries and special projects
Review monthly bank reconciliations
Prepare monthly reconciliations including but not limited to clearing accounts, inventory, and deferred revenue
Prepare daily cash transfers, wires, etc.
Maintain Great Plains accounting software
Prepare monthly remittances
Complete various tax filings
Review fixed asset recording

Qualifications and Requirements:
Accounting degree and minimum four (4) years of accounting experience
Strong organizational and communication skills, customer service attitude and initiative
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Sound working knowledge of Windows-based software including Microsoft Word and Excel
Working experience with Great Plains accounting software preferred

Box Office Associate
This part-time position is dedicated to the efficient servicing of all Sonics & Storm guests at the KeyArena box office on game nights and events. Position will include walk-up ticket sales and will call.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Sell tickets via Ticketmaster system
Handle outbound and inbound will call requests
Interact with guests to answer questions and resolve ticketing issues
Ability to handle cash and credit card transactions and balance a simple bank
Qualifications and Requirements
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent verbal communication skills
Ability to work under pressure
Prior use of Ticketmaster or similar ticket system preferred
Previous box office experience preferred

The Seattle Sonics & Storm are currently seeking individuals to fill our Guest Relations, Ticket Sales & Ticket Operations internship openings for the winter and spring quarters. This internship program is designed to give students the opportunity to develop valuable skills and gain firsthand experience in the professional sports industry. Interns will be supervised by the Guest Relations Coordinator and will learn all aspects of the coordination and administration of the Guest Relations, Ticket Sales & Ticket Operations Departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assisting with daily correspondence to Sonics & Storm guests
Delivering superior customer service and exceeding fan expectations
Researching customer retention strategies
Administrative office duties including filing, organizing, data entry and mailing
Assisting in planning and implementing special marketing events and promotions
Working closely with sales staff to fulfill orders
Learning and using in-house ticketing software
Qualifications and Requirements:
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
Must be eligible to receive credit for this internship.
Must be at least junior year status
Candidates should be computer proficient, detail oriented, and enthusiastic about working within a sport-related environment
Background within a marketing, business, customer service or communications department is encouraged
This internship is based on college credit and is unpaid. There are five internships available for the summer.
