Sonics Take Swift, Young
Confident in the players they already have on the roster, the Seattle SuperSonics went young in Jun. 24th's NBA Draft, selecting 7-0 center Robert Swift from Bakersfield High School with the 12th pick overall. The Sonics believe Swift has the potential to be one of the top centers in the league, and his skills mean he's not that far away from contributing. The Sonics traded their 35th pick to Memphis and used the 41st pick on North Carolina Central guard David Young, who played under Nate McMillan's brother, Randy, during his last year of college.
