OPENING PRACTICE SETS TONE
That this year's Seattle SuperSonics training camp will be different than last year was evident before the end of the first practice of Bob Hill's first camp as head coach. The Sonics were on the court for more than three and a half hours during Tuesday's first practice, and running hard for much of that period. Read more.

Seattle SuperSonics Coach Bob Hill singled out young centers Johan Petro and Robert Swift as the standouts in the team's first practice of the year. "I think the guys that stuck out the most to me were Robert and Johan," said Hill. "I thought they really had good practices right from the beginning. We had a lot of guys who had good practices, but those two guys are so important to us this year." Read more.
DEFENSE THE MANTRA
Seattle SuperSonics Head Coach Bob Hill made sure there was no confusion about his focus for training camp when asked about it at Monday's annual media day. "Defense," said Hill, feeling no need to add clarification or context. Read more.
MEDIA DAY NOTEBOOK
Point guard is a different issue. Luke Ridnour has started 159 of the 161 games he's played over the last two seasons, but with Earl Watson coming to Seattle at last year's trade deadline, Ridnour will be pushed during training camp. Read more.
