Mocking the Draft: Vol. I
June 14, 2005
SUPERSONICS.COM has scoured the internet to find the latest mock drafts from various NBA experts. With the Sonics picking as late as they are and taking a "Best Player Available" philosophy, it's no surprise there's not much consensus right now, though Connecticut prepster
Andray Blatche is the only player mentioned more than once.

Robinson
|
Gregg Doyel, CBSSportsline.com (May 26)
25.
Nate Robinson, PG, Washington
comment: Two years after grabbing Oregon's Luke Ridnour, Seattle goes provincial again with Robinson, the cutest darned shooting guard you've ever seen.
Matt Lawrence, CBSSportsline.com (May 26)
25.
Johan Petro, C, France
comment: Petro is an 18-year-old 7-footer with tons of potential but very raw skills. He'll need a year or two to learn but could be a strong defensive presence down the road.

Blatche
|
Tony Mejia, CBSSportsline.com (May 26)
25. Andray Blatche, C, South Kent Prep
comment: The Sonics can afford to take a gamble on this 6-11 project who never seriously entertained going to college. Worked with Rashard Lewis.
DraftExpress.com (June 13)
25. Andray Blatche, C, South Kent Prep
48.
Eddie Badsden, F/G, Charlotte
55. Orien Green, G, Louisiana Lafayette
comment: While Basden certainly isn't the most intriguing prospect in the draft in terms of scoring ability or upside, he could very well make an NBA roster this summer thanks to his defense, attitude and versatility. … NBA teams could probably do a lot worse drafting late in the 2nd round. Green has some skills that are reminiscent of Marquis Daniels when he was at Auburn.

Jack
|
Chad Ford, ESPN Insider (June 13)
25.
Jarrett Jack, PG, Georgia Tech
comment: Jack could be off the board in the mid-first round, but it's conceivable he could slip all the way to here. He's a very good point guard prospect who just needs to cut down on his turnovers. With Antonio Daniels set to bolt in free agency, the Sonics will have a strong need for a backup point guard with size and toughness..
HoopsHype.com (June 14)
25.
Yaroslav Korolev, F, Russia
comment: Long and athletic forward in the mold of Andrei Kirilenko. Great versatility. Still pretty weak..
