Thunder Family

If Paula and Eddy Wilson’s neighbors ever wonder whether the Oklahoma City Thunder’s in town, all they need to do is glance at the Wilsons’ SUV in the driveway. If the team has a home game, chances are that Paula has already painted “Go Thunder,” KD Rocks” or “Westbrook Rocks” -- or a similar sentiment -- on the car windows.

“The kids at the Deer Creek elementary and middle school love it,” said Paula. “Their moms tell me they love the Thunder car!”

Basketball mania is a family tradition in the Wilson household. Both Paula and Eddy played the game all through school, and their kids – 13-year-old Jordan (you can guess who she’s named after) and 8-year-old Brandon – share their parents’ love of hoops.

Considering how the Oklahoma City family has attended most Thunder games, it’s only fitting that the Wilsons see the Thunder as an extension of that familial bond.

“Our loyalty to the team is like family,” said 41-year-old Paula. “You grow with them, and the changes can be good or bad. We love the way the team supports each other. They are young, but do not let the hype get to them -- down to earth, like OKC!

“I guess that is one of the great things about growing up with this wonderful team and sport. We make great memories with our family time, watching the players make great memories as well.”
