Job Posting - Youth Basketball Coordinator

The Youth Basketball Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the Thunder Youth Basketball programs (Youth Basketball camps, Thunder Fit clinic, Rumble Mini-Dribblers, etc.).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordinate all aspects of the Thunder Youth Basketball programs, including event logistics, player involvement/forms, coordination with Thunder community partners and Basketball Operations, record keeping and follow-up
• Hire and oversee qualified coaches
• Work with other Thunder departments (PR, Marketing, Broadcasting, Web) to publicize Thunder Youth Basketball programs through various channels (Game Night Program, press releases, web promos, NBA Cares newsletters, etc.)
• Proactively look for opportunities to grow Thunder community programs and assist with development of our Youth Basketball programs
• Coordinate camp appearances by Rumble, Thunder Girls and players as needed
• Represent the Thunder at youth basketball-related community events and speaking engagements
• Possess a strong working knowledge of the game of basketball
• Maintain good attendance and punctuality
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:
• College degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Basketball playing or coaching experience is preferred
• Ability to communicate basketball concepts and techniques to individuals and groups
• Formulate age-appropriate plans and drills for implementation into camp setting
• Ability to develop relationships with local and state youth basketball programs
• Excellent interpersonal skills and talent for communicating clear and effective messages with a variety of different constituencies
• Strong organizational skills
• Must be self-motivated and goal-oriented
• Ability to write reports and develop plans
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
• Excellent communication skills, including presentations and speaking to groups
• Available to work evenings and weekends, occasionally at short notice

This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Manager, Thunder Community Events Center.
