Job Posting - Payroll Specialist

The Professional Basketball Club is seeking a payroll professional to join our team in the role of Payroll Specialist. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of the semi-monthly payroll for all Thunder and Tulsa 66ers employees. The ideal candidate will have experience handling multiple tasks under firm deadlines and a strong understanding of current payroll laws. The Payroll Specialist also acts as a liaison between Human Resources and all other departments, promoting open lines of communication with employees, supervisors, and outside vendors while maintaining confidentiality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Audit and enter payroll information including time sheets, commissions and bonuses, deductions, etc.
• Accurately enter semi-monthly payroll batches including data from ADP Time & Attendance
• Schedule and lead new hire meetings with game night staff groups of 1 to 30 people
• Process paperwork for new employees and enter into the payroll system
• Set up and process garnishments
• Monitor vacation/absence requests and accrued balances
• Reconcile outstanding payroll checks for possible unclaimed property
• Calculate taxable per diems for traveling team members
• Create semi-monthly payroll journal entries and enter into Great Plains
• Sort and distribute pay checks/pay stubs
• Create and distribute the annual payroll schedule including due dates for tax payments
• Monitor the current employee roster, auditing for inactive game night employees
• Process employment verifications upon request
• Maintain I-9 master file
• Update and maintain annual LLC renewals
• Perform daily administrative tasks such as maintaining files and making copies
• Maintain good attendance and punctuality
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years’ payroll experience
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred
• Experience using ADP Workforce Now and reporting software and strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook
• Must have understanding of taxation, gross ups, fringe benefits, and moving expenses
• Multi-state payroll experience a plus
• Accurate and detail oriented
• Self-starter with ability to work successfully in a team or work independently as appropriate
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and the security of employee personal information
• Must be dependable, understanding the importance of timely and accurate payroll to the organization
• Occasional evening and weekend work may be required
