Job Posting - Broadcasting Intern

The Oklahoma City Thunder is currently seeking an individual to participate in our Broadcast Intern opening for the upcoming semester. This exciting internship program is designed to give students the opportunity to develop valuable skills and gain firsthand experience in the professional sports industry. The Broadcast Intern will interact with multiple departments by participating in the execution of project requests in a fun and fast-paced sports industry environment.

Scope of Internship:
• Have the opportunity to learn firsthand the inner workings of a two time Emmy Award winning broadcast team and department
• Learn how to organize and maintain digital archiving system
• Gain direct knowledge of organizing, editing and creating professional projects with Final Cut Pro
• Learn how to create quality graphics using Photoshop/After Effects
• Learn to maintain the integrity of footage logs
• Shadow Broadcast personnel at community events
• Shadow game night personnel during select home games
• Learn proper camera techniques (using Sony XD and Sony EX-3 cameras)
• Learn how to execute, maintain and establish professional work relationships
• Occasional office and administrative duties designed to show the full cycle department processes
• Maintain good attendance and punctuality
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Must be presently enrolled in an accredited college or university with classes in broadcasting, journalism, marketing or business
• Excellent verbal, written and computer skills (Microsoft Excel and Word)
• Knowledge of Sony XD and Sony EX-3 (preferred but not required)
• Knowledge of Final Cut Pro and Photoshop (preferred but not required)
• An ability to communicate content across platforms: print, web, audio, video
• Ability to learn and participate in a fast-paced team environment
• Outgoing personality; able to operate independently
• Available nights and weekends/flexible schedule
• The ideal candidate will have a valid driver’s license and insurance
• Moderate lifting involved

This is a paid internship reporting to the Broadcast Production Manager. The number of hours is determined by the number of hours required for credit by your academic advisor.
