Job Posting - Basketball Communications Game Night Representative

The Thunder’s Basketball Communications Game Night Representative will provide assistance to the media and to the Thunder’s Basketball Communications staff during the 2013-2014 NBA season. This position will commence in mid-October and run through the duration of the NBA season. Staff will be expected to attend a majority of the Thunder’s home games while also assisting with various other projects during the upcoming season.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Supervise the Thunder press room before, during and after all home games
• Responsible for obtaining and transcribing quotes from players and coaches at the conclusion of the game
• Distribute in-game statistics to media during timeouts and at the conclusion of each quarter
• Assist local and national media with any questions or inquiries
• Attend various press conferences and transcribe select media events
• Assist with game-day setup throughout the season. In such instances (likely 10-12 games) representatives would need to be available from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on game day (we are willing to work around students’ class schedules)
• Assemble media and visiting team packets. Duties include dropping off media information/credentials to visiting team hotels one day prior to game
• Maintain good attendance and punctuality
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Desire to pursue a career in Public Relations or professional sports is preferred
• General knowledge of the National Basketball Association and the Oklahoma City Thunder
• Strong attention to detail
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be self motivated and goal oriented
• Must be able to work 30+ game nights during the 2013-2014 season

This is a part-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Manager of Basketball Communication.
