The Director, Corporate Communications oversees all Thunder business and community media and public relations efforts, working with the Vice President, Corporate Communications and Community Relations to accomplish public relations initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop year round positive media coverage for management and overall business initiatives
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local/national reporters
  • Provide assistance in crisis situations
  • Write releases and articles on team off-court business and community news
  • Cover community events to assist with media
  • Work with publications director to manage and contribute to program and magazine
  • Work closely with other departments within the organization to initiate media coverage
  • Oversee quality control of publications and written materials across all departments within the business office
  • Develop and train managers, coordinators and interns within the department
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; emphasis in Journalism or Marketing preferred
  • Minimum five years of PR experience
  • Knowledge of basketball required
  • Strong writing skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Professional demeanor
  • Customer service focused
  • Must be self motivated and goal oriented while working in a team environment
  • Must be able to work flexible hours on short notice, including nights and weekends

The Oklahoma City Thunder is a member of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Thunder is owned by the Professional Basketball Club, LLC, a group of Oklahoma City investors led by entrepreneur Clayton I. Bennett. Playing at the Ford Center in downtown Oklahoma City, the Thunder hosts 41 regular season NBA games per year from October through April.

The Microsoft Application Developer will work on a project team developing, testing, deploying and supporting player database applications using Microsoft SQL Server, XML, C#, WPF and the .NET Framework.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage statistical player database (SQL 2008) and application (Desktop application in C# and WPF) Create new and unique reports
  • Add additional functionality to the core player applications
  • Develop stored procedures and enhance the existing analytic algorithms
  • Automate data loading and import into SQL Server from various data formats
  • Design and Automate ETL processes
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 2 to 3 years experience with Microsoft .NET desktop development with C# (WPF a plus)
  • 1 to 2 years experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005, including exposure to SQL Server 2005 Integration Services
  • Should have working knowledge of stored procedures, T-SQL, SSIS, indexing, performance tuning and security
  • Experienced problem solver that enjoys working collaboratively in a team environment
  • Bachelor's degree (Computer Science or Engineering preferred), verifiable by transcripts
  • Self-starter that can handle multiple tasks and priorities
  • Must be comfortable with database-related tasks in addition to developing front-end client applications
  • Experience with SQL Server 2008 a plus
  • Highly motivated and dependable
  • Must be able to work long hours on short notice, weekends and nights as needed

As a member of the Thunder Survey Crew you will be responsible for using hand held devices to survey our guests at Thunder home games, events, promotions, etc. This position is an integral piece of the Thunder business operations. The information collected assists management in making numerous business decisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with members of the Database Management team in order to fulfill survey responsibilities
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to work weekends and nights
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Ability to work as a team or on your own
  • Knowledge of and passion for basketball is a plus
