Thunder Seeks Entertainers for Game Nights
Auditions for Rain Drops, Thunder Drummers to be held in September
Oklahoma City, Wednesday, Sept. 4 – The Oklahoma City Thunder announced today that it is seeking energetic and talented fans to be a part of the game-night show at Chesapeake Energy Arena as members of the Thunder Drummers and the Rain Drops. The team will hold auditions for the Thunder Drummers on Wednesday, Sept. 11 and for the Rain Drops on Saturday, Sept. 21.
The Thunder Drummers engage and entertain fans through community events, pre- and postgame performances and as featured entertainers during Thunder home games. Talented drummers with a high degree of showmanship are encouraged to try out.
The Rain Drops, presented by Trochta’s Flowers and Garden Center, have proven to be a fan favorite at home games. The team’s junior dance squad features young fans ages 7 to 12, showing off their talents in a variety of dance routines. Kids interested in trying out for the squad must demonstrate a high energy level and excellent dance skills. The Rain Drops practice weekly and perform once a month during the season.
“Our goal is to make Thunder games a great experience for fans of all ages,” said John Leach, director of Events and Entertainment for the Thunder. “The Thunder Drummers and the Rain Drops add to the fun on game nights and help us give our fans nonstop entertainment. We’re excited to showcase the talents of these great entertainment teams.”
Auditions for the Thunder Drummers will take place Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. Tryouts will be held at the ACM@UCO Performance Lab in Bricktown, at 329 E. Sheridan Ave.
