Devon Community Hero - The Brave Men and Women of the United States Military

The Brave Men and Women of the United States Military: March 27

On March 27th, we honored the brave men and women of the United States Military. We paid special tribute to six men killed or wounded in action who are the March Devon Energy Community Heroes, presented by the Thunder.

The families of each are recipients of scholarships from the Folds of Honor Foundation, a national organization based in Tulsa that supports the families of killed or wounded soldiers. Funds for the scholarships are the result of the generosity of Thunder fans who contributed during a collection effort at our October preseason game in Tulsa.

The men who were honored include Sergeant Mycal Prince, Lieutnant Jered Ewy and Specialist Christopher Horton--all member of the Oklahoma National Guard killed in action in Aghanistan. In attendance were Devon Community Hero recipients Sergeant James Stuck, Sergeant Legrande Strickland and Sergeant Ed O'Neil, all three of whom were wounded and lost legs in service to their nation.
