The Colman Playfield court refurbishing is one of several similar projects organized by NeighorHoops, now in its 8th year. As a program of the Sonics & Storm T.E.A.M. Foundation, NeighborHoops refurbishes dilapidated basketball courts throughout the state of Washington. Since its inception in 1998, NeighborHoops has renovated more than 20 courts including Pratt Park, Lakewood Boys & Girls Club, Everett Boys & Girls Club, Blaine Elementary School, White Center Community Center, East Central Community Center in Spokane and the Nate McMillan Court in Seattle.
The mission of the Sonics & Storm Team Foundation is to support community programs that Teach, Encourage and Motivate children, young adults and families in Washington State. T.E.A.M. seeks to enrich communities by supporting educational and athletic initiatives, with an emphasis on basketball.
