Steven Lipscomb, an award-winning producer and director of television and film, is the founder and chief executive officer of WPT Enterprises, Inc.
Lipscomb has extensive experience filming professional poker. He produced and directed On the Inside of The World Series of Poker for the Discovery Channel in 1999 and he filmed the 2001 Tournament of Champions of Poker. He went on to create and executive produce Cruisin’ to a Million, a program for the Travel Channel that showcased a million-dollar poker tournament on a cruise ship sailing the Mexican Riviera.
Lipscomb has worked closely with such luminaries as Al Burton, Norman Lear and Alvin Toffler to create successful films and television shows. His numerous credits include Turn Ben Stein On, Beyond Future Shock and Battle for the Minds.
Formerly an attorney with Gibson, Dunn, & Crutcher, Lipscomb earned his bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College, where he was president of his class, and his law degree from the University of Chicago, where he was a Greenberg Scholar. He sold his attorney referral business to fund his first film.
