Stephen G. Pagliuca

Steve Pagliuca is a managing director at Bain Capital, a leading global private investment firm based in Boston. He joined Bain & Company in 1982 and founded the Information Partners private equity fund for Bain Capital in 1989. Pagliuca and his partners have built Bain into one of the world’s leading investment companies, with more than $65 billion in assets under management.

Pagliuca is also co-owner and managing general partner of the Boston Celtics. As a managing partner and chairman of the Celtics’ basketball committee, he focuses on the development and improvement of the basketball operations. In addition, Pagliuca serves as president of the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation (BCSF). The BCSF, a leader in community outreach in professional sports, helps children gain access to housing, healthcare and other services in partnership with local charities.

Pagliuca’s other charitable efforts include serving as chairman of the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, a nonprofit society with a legacy of strengthening families and preventing child abuse, and serving as a trustee of Bain Capital Children’s Charity, which has donated more than $33 million to worthy organizations since its inception in 1997. In 2005, Pagliuca received the Bright Star Award from former President Clinton in recognition of his charitable activities. In 2010, he received the American Dream Award from Habitat for Humanity for outstanding contributions to the greater Boston community.
