Javier Pérez Dolset, founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Zed Group, is an entrepreneur with a wealth of experience developing products and services for new technologies.
In 1992, Javier and his brother, Ignacio, took over Proein, a video-game distributor. A year later, they started Teleline, one of the first Internet service providers in Spain, and in 1996, they set up LaNetro, which offered interactive content accessible from any Internet-ready device. That same year, they also founded Pyro Studios, the main developer of digital entertainment in Spain. Pyro’s video games are distributed in 50 countries.
LaNetro was rebranded to Zed in 2007 and is currently the leading company in the mobile value added industry space by revenues and geographical footprint. Zed employs more than 1,400 people in 54 countries.
One of Javier’s latest projects, together with his brother Ignacio, was the setting up of Ilion Animation Studios to create state-of-the-art computer animated movies. The first film, Planet 51, is scheduled for wide theatrical release by Sony Pictures on November 20, 2009.
