Stephen G. Pagliuca
Managing Director, Bain Capital

Stephen G. Pagliuca is a managing director at Bain Capital, a leading global private investment firm based in Boston. He is also co-managing partner and co-owner of the Boston Celtics.

Pagliuca joined Bain & Company in 1982 and founded the Information Partners private equity fund for Bain Capital in 1989. He has been a managing director for the past 19 years and helped to build the firm into one of the world’s leading investment companies, with more than $67 billion in assets under management.

Bain Capital has been a leader in private equity acquisitions of media and technology companies, including ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG, Warner Music, Clear Channel Communications, Loews Theatres, The Gartner Group and ADS. Bain Capital has made more than 50 investments in technology venture companies.

Pagliuca’s many charitable endeavors include his role as a trustee for Bain Capital Children’s Charity, which has donated more than $10 million to worthy organizations since the fund’s inception in 1997. He is chairman of the Duke University Trinity Board of Advisors, the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children and the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation, and co-chair of the Inner City Scholarship Fund. In addition, he serves on the international board of Right To Play, a humanitarian organization that uses sport as a tool for the development of children in the world’s most disadvantaged areas.
