Sue Nokes
Chief Customer & Operations Officer, T-Mobile USA

Sue Nokes serves as chief customer and operations officer for T-Mobile USA. Nokes, who assumed her current role in November 2007, joined T-Mobile USA in 2002 as senior vice president of customer service. In 2006, she was promoted to senior vice president of sales and customer service.

Nokes leads more than 29,000 sales, customer service and business operations professionals in delivering a world-class customer experience at T-Mobile. She is responsible for corporate retail, dealer, national retailer, Internet, telesales and business-to-business sales; customer, financial, business and technical care; outsourcing; warehouse operations, supply chain and logistics; and wireless number portability. In less than two years, Nokes led T-Mobile from last to first in wireless customer service satisfaction. In its 2008 Wireless Customer Care Performance Survey, J.D. Power and Associates ranked T-Mobile first for the sixth consecutive year, an unprecedented achievement. Nokes’ leadership has garnered recognition from BusinessWeek, which ranked T-Mobile among an elite group of America’s 25 best service brands as a “Customer Service Champ,” and by FORTUNE's as T-Mobile’s secret weapon in customer service.

Prior to joining T-Mobile, Nokes served as vice president for Wal-Mart.com and was instrumental in the successful launch of Wal-Mart’s online enterprise. Her broad sales and customer service management experience includes posts at Ameritech and TeleDenmark. Nokes annually participates in FORTUNE’s “Most Powerful Women in Business” programs and is a nationally recognized speaker on corporate culture, organizational change, and world-class customer service.
