Michael Mendenhall
Chief Marketing Officer & Senior Vice President, HP

Michael Mendenhall is chief marketing officer and senior vice president at HP, where he directs all aspects of the company’s global corporate marketing operations, including brand strategy, internal and external communications, digital strategy, global citizenship, integrated design, customer intelligence, services and operations, and HP.com. Prior to joining HP in 2007, Mendenhall spent 17 years at Walt Disney Company, advancing to become executive vice president in charge of marketing and communications for all Disney parks and resorts, a $10 billion business spanning North America, Europe and Asia. His areas of responsibility included global brand image, marketing strategy, planning, publicity, advertising, media, new media/online, interactive television, strategic alliance marketing, special events and promotions, as well as operations and customer managed activities. Mendenhall also held numerous senior marketing positions at Disney and participated in the Disneyland openings in Paris and Hong Kong.

Mendenhall has overseen work that has won a number of prestigious awards, including an Emmy and 2000 and 2001 Silver Lion Awards for “Best Corporate Campaign” at the International Advertising Festival in Cannes, France. Delaney Report recently named him “Marketer of the Year,” and in 2008, BtoB magazine named him a “Top Marketer” and AdvertisingAge ranked him 22nd on its list of “Power Players.”
He is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Marketing and Branding and the Marketing 50, a club of 50 top non-competitive chief marketing officer peers who come together for strategic collaboration. He also serves on the boards of the USA Swimming Foundation, the Churchill Club and the San Gabriel Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
