panelist David Levy President of Sales, Distribution & Sports Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. David Levy is president of sales, distribution and sports for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. He leads advertising sales strategy and operations—as well as all affiliate sales, marketing promotion, interactive television and technology business development—for Turner’s domestic news, entertainment, animation and young adults networks and businesses. In his role as president of Turner Sports, Levy oversees the company’s sports programming acquisitions, production, marketing, league relations and sports ad sales unit. Since assuming this role in 2003, Levy has been instrumental in deepening Turner’s long-standing programming relationships with the NBA, NASCAR and PGA of America, as well as expanding the company’s digital partnerships with each of these leading sports brands. In 2008, Turner and the NBA began a groundbreaking partnership in which the two organizations jointly manage the League’s extensive digital portfolio. Additionally, Levy was instrumental in securing Turner’s exclusive rights to Major League Baseball’s Division Series and one League Championship Series each year. In 2008, Levy was named the top executive on the MediaWeek 50 list, which recognized the industry’s most indispensable executives. In the past, Levy has also been named to Business Week’s “Power 100” ranking of the most influential people in sports and Sports Business Journal’s list of the most influential people in sports. |
