Denver Nuggets set to compete in NBA Summer League 2013
Team has been part of Las Vegas competition every year since 2004
The Denver Nuggets are among 22 teams that will take part in NBA Summer League 2013 in Las Vegas from July 12-22.
The Nuggets have competed in Las Vegas since the league’s inception in 2004, with some of their top young players showcasing their skills.
Power forward Kenneth Faried, Denver’s first-round pick in 2011, averaged 11.3 points and 8.0 rebounds in three games last summer, while guard Evan Fournier, the 20th overall pick in 2012, averaged 14.8 points.
The Nuggets have gone 24-15 during eight seasons in Las Vegas. No team has won more games in the league’s history, and the .615 winning percentage is third among teams who have played at least 10 games.
Denver has the 27th overall pick in the June 27 NBA Draft. The selection potentially could be on the summer-league roster as the Nuggets play a minimum of five games.
For the first time, the Las Vegas summer league will feature five days of preliminary play, followed by a single-elimination tournament leading up to a title game on July 22.
Select Nuggets games will be televised on NBA TV and Altitude Sports & Entertainment. A full schedule of games will be released at a later date.
