BENO UDRIH WINS 2009-10 OSCAR ROBERTSON
TRIPLE-DOUBLE AWARD

-- Kings guard receives Oscar Robertson Triple-Double Award for his commitment
on and off the court --

SACRAMENTO, CA, April 12, 2010 ---- In honor of one of the NBA’s all-time greats, the Sacramento Kings continue to honor the legacy of Oscar Robertson, both on and off the court, by awarding the 2009-10 Oscar Robertson Triple-Double Award to Beno Udrih.

Every season, the Oscar Robertson Triple-Double Award winner is selected by a panel of local sports media and presented to the deserving Kings player who exemplifies certain characteristics both on and off the court. The triple signifies on the court accomplishments: He is a team leader, embodies the spirit of sportsmanship and plays an outstanding all-around game. The double signifies off the court leadership by showing commitment to community service and family.

The 2009-10 season has proven to be a standout year for Udrih. His per game averages include (as of Apr. 11) 12.8 ppg (ties career high), 4.6 apg, 2.8 rpg and 1.1 spg (ties career high). He has already achieved a career high in three-pointers made (74) and is on the verge of achieving a career high in field goal percentage (.491). Udrih, currently in his sixth NBA season, has provided the exciting, young Kings with veteran leadership and steady play. Udrih also posted his first career triple-double (18 pts., 15 ast., 10 reb. – Mar. 28 vs. Cleveland) and achieved a career high in single-game assists (17 – Mar. 21 vs. Los Angeles Clippers) during the 2009-10 campaign.

In addition to his on-court achievements, Udrih has made a positive impact in Sacramento off the court through his community service efforts. As part of the “Kings for the Community” program, Udrih hosted hundreds of deserving children and special groups at Kings home games throughout the season. Udrih’s generosity extended beyond the Sacramento region, as he supported the Haiti relief efforts following the country’s devastating earthquake in January by donating $1 to the American Red Cross on behalf of everyone who attended the Feb. 3 Kings-Spurs game.

Also this season, Udrih teamed up with Maloof Sports & Entertainment Team Members and volunteers in celebrating the seventh annual Cesar Chavez Day of Volunteerism by refurbishing the North Roseville R.E.C. Center. In November, Udrih assisted St. Philomene’s Sharing the Bounty program by serving Thanksgiving dinner to local families and individuals in need.

Udrih will be recognized tonight for his achievement in an on-court halftime presentation. Former Oscar Robertson Triple-Double Award winners include Francisco Garcia (2009), Kevin Martin (2008), Corliss Williamson (2007 and 2006), Peja Stojakovic (2005), Vlade Divac (2004) and Chris Webber (2003).
