September 19, 2003 -- Last night at the United Center, over 50 avid male Bulls fans met to strut their stuff and compete to become members of the franchise’s newest entertainment troupe, the Matadors. After demonstrating their dancing technique or lack thereof, fan pride and their ability to bring tears of laughter to the eyes of the judges, 14 lucky men were chosen to perform on the first Chicago Matadors team at Bulls home games this season.
The inaugural team features James Bannon (Chicago), Bill Beers (Hammond, IN), Kevin Blanchard (Chicago), Tom Dosch (Chicago), Joseph Delulio (Schaumburg), Pat Germano (Palatine), David Gross (Chicago), Chad Hansing (Chicago), John Hildebrand (Chicago), Corie Paige (Joliet), Kevin Swier (Naperville), Vito Vittore (Chicago), Brian Vogler (Chicago), and Jason Yurechko (Hammond, IN).
The new group will perform at selected home games during the 2003.04 season with the goal to entertain, energize and interact with Bulls fans.
