Bulls celebrate NBA's Green Week on April 2
April 1, 2011 - The Chicago Bulls announced today their participation in the NBA's Green Week 2011 by hosting an in-arena Go Green awareness night during their game on Saturday, April 2 vs. the Toronto Raptors.
During the third annual NBA Green Week, the entire NBA family will team up to generate awareness and funding to protect the environment. To show their support at Saturday's game, the team will wear 100 percent organic cotton adidas shooting shirts featuring the NBA Green logo. Other efforts planned for the game to encourage fans to implement green habits will include:
- Brookfield Zoo will set up a booth on the 100 level concourse between Gates 6 and 7 to distribute environmental education information.
- Brookfield Zoo's mascot "Bison Bull" will be roaming the 100 level concourse meeting and greeting fans.
- The first 10,000 fans to visit the Brookfield Zoo booth will receive free tickets to the zoo's Party for the Planet event on Saturday, April 23. For more information about Party for the Planet, visit www.brookfieldzoo.org.
To celebrate Green Week, Bulls legends Bob Love, Sidney Green and Benny the Bull visited Brookfield Zoo today along with students from Lake Shore School to help promote environmental awareness. At the zoo, the Bulls' and students planted flowers that were placed in current Bulls players' shoes which will be on display in the zoo's greenhouse. As a special treat, the students also got to visit the polar bear exhibit and received tickets to the Bulls game on April 2.
