On the defensive end …
“Yeah right from the beginning of the game we really struggled from that end of the floor. At one point we were shooting 67 percent and it was a tied game. We kind of commented on the bench that this was going to be a difficult game for us to win, even though we were playing pretty well offensively. We let them catch it wherever they wanted to catch it.”

On the technical foul in the third quarter …
“I don’t look at the games as one play here or there. I look at it more as what we are trying to get done out there and are we trying to get those things done and we had great difficulty trying to get that done tonight.”

On the game …
“The losing mindset is to look at other people to blame. That’s generally not what winners are doing and if that was what we’re doing that’s not a good sign. They took it to us. We had some silly fouls in the first half. As I said, we didn’t take care of our business tonight. We had nice rhythm going offensively, had nice ball movement and scored over 100 points. 78 field goal attempts and 118 points, that’s a tough game for us to win.”

On rebounding …
“We are a good rebounding team. Our guys normally go out there and rebound the ball well. In the situation where they shot the ball so well there aren’t that many rebounds to get. We got our share of them. We had a little trouble converting at points in the game. Other then about four minutes in the third quarter we had a decent offensive rhythm to us in the game.”

On the defensive performance …
“Defensively that’s not where we want to be allowing them to shoot almost 54 percent from the field. We finally had a decent shooting night but defensively they ran what they wanted to run. Kind of picked us apart on the offensive end when they got the ball.”

On Shannon Brown coming off the bench …
“He was so efficient out there for them, 21 points in 21 minutes, no turnovers, that’s an efficient game coming off the bench. He is playing well in that system. He was a huge spark for them. It seemed like time in time out he was knocking out that corner three. We have guys that come off the bench also that can score in a variety of ways just as Shannon (Brown), but you have to credit him.”

On the game …
“There the number one offensive team, were the number one defensive, I think they won that battle. But I think that we need to do a better job offensively. We gave them a lot of easy baskets and we kind of over-respected their triangle a little bit.”

• Brandon Jennings scored a Bucks season-high 31 points while Andrew Bogut grabbed a Bucks season-best 18 rebounds.
• Tonight’s contest is the fourth straight where the Bucks are facing a top-10 scoring team in the league. Entering tonight’s game the Lakers led the league at 112.5 points.
• Both teams shot over 50% in the first quarter. Bucks shot 12-19 (63.2%). The Lakers shot 12-23 (52.2%).
• After the first quarter Brandon Jennings led the Bucks with 10 points and Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol led the Lakers with 10 points each.

• Kobe Bryant’s 31 points are the top total for a Bucks opponent this season.
• Shannon Brown scored a season-high 21 points and went 4-5 from 3-point range. Those four threes tie his career best, accomplished twice previously.
• Pau Gasol posted his team-leading ninth double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. He added four assists and three blocks in 44 minutes.
• The Lakers ended the Bucks 10-game stretch without giving up 100 points in regulation.
• Andrew Bogut (12 points and 18 rebounds) recorded his fourth double-double of the season and Drew Gooden (22 points and 13 rebounds , both season highs) notched his third double-double of the season.
• Carlos Delfino of the Bucks missed his fourth straight game with a strained neck.

GOING WHERE NO DEER HAVE GONE BEFORE – The Bucks have allowed 91 points or less in each of the last five games, tied for the longest non-lockout season streak of that nature in franchise history (also five last season, March 3-12). Not including the lockout shortened season, Scott Skiles coached teams have the longest streaks of games allowing 91 points or fewer and a total of four of the six streaks of four or more games. Holding the L.A. Lakers, the highest scoring team in the NBA at 112.5 points per game, to 91 or fewer points would set a nonlockout record. *In the lockout year the Bucks had a streak of six consecutive games allowing 91 or fewer points and two streaks with four games of allowing 91 or fewer.*

DEFENSIVE DEER – The Bucks have allowed foes to score 100-plus points just once this season (in OT at Boston), giving the team a 10-game stretch without giving up 100 points in regulation. That is the longest streak to start a season in team history outside of the shortened 1998-99 season when Charlotte scored 113 in the first game (in overtime) and not again until Indiana scored 109 in the 18th game of the year. New Orleans is the only team yet to give up 100 points this season. Milwaukee is giving up 89.4 points each night, the lowest in the NBA.

10 + 5 + 5 = W – On Saturday Brandon Jennings had his third consecutive game with at least 10 points, five assists and five rebounds (he finished with 19 points, six assists and a career-high 11 rebounds). In each of the Bucks five wins, they’ve had a player reach those numbers – Brandon Jennings four times and John Salmons once. Jennings is tied for fifth with those four games, LeBron James leads the league with six. When you advance the numbers to 19, five and five, Jennings (four games) is tied with three other players for first (LeBron James, Russell Westbrook and Deron Williams). Jennings’ string of three straight 19/5/5 games is the longest active string in the NBA. Last season Bucks players had 30 games of at least 10/5/5 with Jennings leading the way with 14.

IN RESERVE – The Bucks bench has been bountiful so far this season and has outscored its opponents’ bench in seven of nine games. Over the last six games, the Bucks have a 195-168 (32.5-28.0) advantage from the bench. Corey Maggette leads the Bucks bench with 12.9 points, which ranks second on the team and ninth amongst NBA reserves, in 21.0 minutes per game (which is tied for 39th in minutes played for reserves in the league).

NEARING NUMBERS – A few personal milestones were reached in Saturday’s game against the Warriors. Andrew Bogut (3,085) passed Vin Baker (3,079) for 8th place in franchise history in rebounds. Bogut now needs three rebounds to pass Jack Sikma (3,087) for seventh. Bogut (471) is also four blocks from passing Randy Breuer (474) for fifth in blocks and nine points (4,328) from passing Jay Humphries (4,336) for 20th in points. Carlos Delfino (249) is one steal away from 250 for his career and (346) needs four threes to reach 350. Keyon Dooling is one steal away from 400. Drew Gooden (6,993) is seven points away from 7,000. Corey Maggette (11,947) is 53 points away from 12,000 for his career. The Bucks franchise (1,795) is five wins from 1,800. That’s 14th among active franchises, but their .525 winning percentage (1,795-1,6267) is eighth among active franchises.

• The Bucks defeated the Warriors Saturday while shooting 33.7 percent from the field. That’s the lowest field goal percentage for a winning team this year in the NBA and the lowest percentage a team has won with since Portland defeated Washington while shooting 32.1 percent on 3/19/10. The Bucks lead the NBA with two wins when shooting less than 40.0 percent – the rest of the league has five total wins shooting 40.0 or less.
  
  
• The Bucks 58 rebounds on Saturday were their most since snagging 61 at NY on February 22, 2010. Their .522 rebound percentage on the season is fourth in the NBA.

The Knicks averaged 103.7 points (9th in the league) on the day of the game and the Bucks held them to 80 points. Atlanta averaged 104.0 points (10th) and the Bucks held them to 91 and Golden State averaged 104.7 (7th) and the Bucks held them to 72.
