Great Expectations
Tony the Tiger must be loving the pregame commentary coming out of Los Angeles as the Lakers host the Spurs in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. San Antonio point guard Tony Parker opens with a trifecta of greatness on Spurs.com. "It's always great to play against the Lakers," said Parker. "Kobe's at his best; they have a great team. It reminds me of my first couple of years in the league. Back to the rivalry. It will be great." Three greats. Great.
NBA MVP Kobe Bryant demonstrated ruthless efficiency with a short, sweet twofer of greatness regarding the Spurs. "We've had some great matchups," said Kobe. "It feels great to be back at that level, matching up with San Antonio." Bryant also tossed off a few greats in Bruce Bowen's direction on Lakers.com. "It’ll be fun," said Bryant when asked about matching up with Bowen and the defensive-minded Spurs. "He’s a great defender. They’re a great defensive team."
So, there you have it. Check out Spurs vs. Lakers. Should be great.
